Tennessee born and bred, people tell Aaron that he doesn’t have an accent. (These people must also be from Tennessee.)
Aaron fell in love a second time in 2013 (the first time was with his wife of 15 years). You could say that his second love was credit unions. Seeing credit unions as the perfect blend of capitalism and compassion, it was another match made in heaven.
Aaron is actually on his third career, starting off as a database designer and later attending law school. After some years in private practice as an attorney, he was recruited to serve as in-house counsel for Appalachian Community Credit Union, a CDFI headquartered in Tennessee.
A Renaissance man, Aaron has experience volunteering with his church and many nonprofit community-based organizations such as CASA, has published a children’s book called “The Kite and the Boy” and is the driving force behind a Tennessee-based nonprofit that provides relationship-based financial coaching to low income residents in Northeast Tennessee.
With any free time remaining, Aaron likes to read, lift weights and spend time with his wife, two kids and less-than-bright (but lovable) dog. Together they enjoy playing disc golf, hiking and playing board games.
