Jamie Chase, Founder & Instigator of Goodness

Jamie Chase founded the #1 credit union grant writing firm in the United States, CU Strategic Planning.

She is internationally recognized for developing innovative programs for credit unions, Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and organizations working with Native populations. Her background as a former PBS producer and idealism in the cooperative credit union movement concentrate her contributions to the world in the advancement of financial justice and access to affordable capital. She is a national leader in the credit union movement and a past publicist for the World Council of Credit Unions. Her work for credit unions is prominent around the world today. She introduced America’s Credit Unions to the Emmy Award winning executive producers of Bill Nye the Science Guy. Her development work resulted in the largest grant in the history of the National Credit Union Foundation, a multi-year, multi-million dollar grant to underwrite BizKid$, which is now broadcast on PBS in every U.S. state and internationally.

Jamie is one of several hundred Credit Union Development Educators and one of less than 30 with a prestigious international (iCUDE) designation. As an entrepreneur and consultant she founded, CU Strategic Planning, which is widely regarded as the most successful developer of U.S. Treasury CDFI programs for credit unions. CU Strategic Planning writes and wins more CDFI award applications for credit unions serving distressed communities and Native populations than any other team.

Chase’s extensive volunteer work includes leading a goodwill mission of congressional staffers to Mali, West Africa documented by the World Trade Center. The delegation examined micro-credit and cooperative finance to reduce poverty domestically using international best practices. Jamie was raised in a historic cooperative village. She is passionate about the preservation of the International Credit Union Operating Principles.
